Here we have a true running Survivor; A running 1978 HARLEY DAVIDSON IRONHEAD is an authentic, vintage, Harley-Davidson Chopper which I have named, "ODIN'S HORSE". I bought this bike about 5 years ago. The gentleman I got it from had it since the 1980's and mostly rode it in parades, but also kept it running and maintained and I have done the same. Has a beautiful coffin tank molded into the frame, molding throughout the rest of the frame. It also has many period correct "chopper era" parts, and has had A LOT of MONEY put into making it road worthy.***Please read Item Description/Condition*** as this contains many other specifics about this bike. Actual mile unknown and exempt as the bike is older than 10 yrs. Pictures are part of item description. Let me know if you need to see anything specifically. PayPal for deposit ONLY ....CASH or bank transfer for balance....Clean and clear New York State TITLE in my name. The title matches the left case number and while the frame is aftermarket and molded beautifully, it has a tag with the vin# on the frame neck. THIS IS NOT A RECONSTRUCTION TITLE: Titled in my name as a 1978 Harley-Davidson NO funny business with me. This is RARE to have a chopper you can LEGALLY PUT ON THE ROAD (it will pass inspections as it has a horn, turn signals, as well as high & low beams) With that said, please look into exactly what you will need in YOUR STATE to register this motorcycle. If for any reason you are not comfortable, please do not bid. With that said, it is a 42 year old bike and will require some periodic maintenance. (like any bike really) I always want to be honest and I would never intentionally mislead a seller. So please don't buy this bike and think you are expecting it to keep up with modern day cruisers or sport bikes, or ride it cross country like a new evo. With that said, this bike is truly a GREAT LOOKING ONE OF A KIND CHOPPER DONE RIGHT. When I look online I see so many "ugly choppers" and bikes with title issues, or major safety concerns.. This bike starts right up, runs well, and it's uniquely molded "plunger" frame (it may be an old AMEN savior frame/similar to an Indian frame) gets looks where ever you ride it!!! And it is fun to ride. The tires have great tread, new tube in rear tire, newer lights, battery and primary & starter gaskets. I had upstate NY's South End Choppers rebuild the whole vintage Columbus SPRINGER. It was taken apart and rebuilt with new bearings, a new neck stem and "viking ship/devil tail rockers were CNC machine cut and powder-coated black It has an electric start, rear disc brake, and a mini-drum front brake. (basically a "hill-holder"..not really for slowing down) I have the shop do work on this bike throughout the years and I have rebuilt the Keihn carb, added vintage "triple Z-bars", done oil changes, gaskets,...etc....I included a pic to show the primary taken apart, as one example of the work that I have done to maintain this machine. There has been maintenance and upgrades throughout the many years before and since I have owned this bike. Lastly I will be available if you choose to use a shipping company but I will not arrange for shipping. That will be the buyers responsibility. Again, read my 100% positive feedback and bid with confidence. I have sold many high end and high priced vintage guitars an musical equipment and have been with eBay for 13 years!!!!! This bike really is solid and while it is a Harley, it doesn't leak more than a drop or have issues with sumping. The lights work, has a horn. Unmolested vin # on left side case. The belly numbers match and the vin# matches the title in my name.I have brought my bikes (re-built survivors) to NOTT (Night of the Troglodytes) Chopper show!!!! This is an amazing show for builders and chopper enthusiasts which takes place at night at the start of TROG (The Race of Gentlemen) This is a passion for me, not a business. Restoring, riding, and building vintage bikes and choppers is truly a passion and anyone who is involved for the love of bikes, never really gets out the investment they put into their personal bikes. My loss is your gain. So, Please read my 100% feedback selling and buying vintage guitars and musical equipment in addition to motorcycles and motorcycle parts and ask questions. I expect the winning bidder to follow through with payment. Please do not bid if you do not have the funds to cover the purchase. I appreciate many things but I am NOT INTERESTED IN TRADES for this bike.If you have "0" feedback (or less than 10 transactions) you must contact me before bidding on this item. Please do not bid if you do not have the finances or have no intention of following through with completion of this sale. Lastly, I will not alter bills of sale or deal with anything regarding customs. This auction is for US bidders ONLY. Thanks for your interest.
